The next Twitepad update is almost ready to be sent to Apple for approval. We mainly focussed on reducing the memory needs of Twitepad. This has the following benefits:

  • It runs more stable and smoother when you use many columns.
  • More columns possible.
    Right now we limit Twitepad to 6 columns. If you use more the iPad will run out of memory very quickly and Twitepad will crash sooner or later as a result of that.
    With the next update there will probably no more limit. We tested it with 15 columns and you can use probably even more if you really need to.

 

Twitepad for iPhone released

Twitepad for iPhone was approved by Apple and is now available for download. It also supports all the usual Twitter functions incl. Lists and Search, but probably the most interesting features are these:

  • Automatic synching with Twitepad for iPad. 
    Twitepad automatically syncs the last read Tweet between your devices, this works for your Timeline, Lists, Searches. And you don't need to setup anything it just works seamless in the background
  • Thumbnail pre-loading
    When I am on the road I always hesitate to click on a link unless I am really sure it's worth reading, because I stare at a white loading screen for a long time until the website finally appears.
    So Twitepad for iPhone loads the website in the background while you can still continue reading your Tweets. You can see the loading progress at the bottom of the screen. Once the site is loaded just tap on it and you can read it, without any further waiting.  

It's available form the App Store for only US$ 0.99.

Twitepad and Twitepad One V1.60 were approved by Apple, only a small update:

  • Fixed a bug with AutoSync
  • QuickSelect, you can turn this on and off for each column from the menu. Makes switching between Timeline, Mentions, Lists etc. quicker

Just want to let you know that we are also working on Twitepad for Mac.

We have a very early version running, but still needs a lot of work before we can release it.
